Attention all golf enthusiasts! The state championships are heating up, and we’ve got some thrilling updates that you won’t want to miss. But here’s where it gets exciting: Scottsbluff’s own Addie Peck is making waves in the Class B Girls State Golf Championships, and she’s right in the thick of the action on her home turf at Scotts Bluff Country Club.
As a senior, Peck demonstrated her resilience during the opening round, starting with a 43 on the front nine and bouncing back with a solid 39 on the back nine. Her total score of 82, 10 over par, positioned her as the clubhouse leader when her round concluded. And this is the part most people miss: Despite her strong start, Peck will enter the final round tied for third place, just four shots behind the leader. Can she close the gap and claim the title? Only time will tell.
Leading the pack after day one is Annabelle Bang of Elkhorn, who carded an impressive 78, six over par. Close behind in second place is Avery Peter of Elkhorn North, finishing at nine over par with an 81. Controversial question: With such tight margins, could we see a dramatic shift in the leaderboard on the final day? Let us know your predictions in the comments!
