HAMILTON — Hamilton police say they have found the two vehicles allegedly involved in the shooting that left an international student dead last week.

Harsimrat Randhawa, a 21-year-old Mohawk College student from India, was shot by a stray bullet while she waited near a bus stop in the area of Upper James Street and South Bend Road Thursday evening.

Investigators believe shots were fired from a black Mercedes SUV at a white Hyundai Elantra, both of which fled the scene after the shooting.

They say police recovered the white sedan from a residential area in northwest Toronto on Sunday, and it was towed to Hamilton for forensic analysis.

Police say they found the black SUV in central Hamilton the next day after executing a search warrant at a residence and it is also being searched for evidence.

Investigators say they have “narrowed down” the list of people associated with both vehicles, and are encouraging those involved in the shooting to contact their lawyers and surrender themselves to police.
