How do I redeem my eGift Card? To redeem your eGift card reward, just sign in to your donor portal. Click on "Redeem Rewards" and follow the promts to select and redeem you eGift card(s).

Redeeming a gift card usually involves visiting the physical store or the retailer's website and following a simple process. In a physical store, the cashier will scan or enter the gift card number to deduct the purchase amount from the card balance.

One offer per donor, per donation. No cash value.

Only 7% of the population are O negative. However, the need for O negative blood is the highest because it is used most often during emergencies. The need for O+ is high because it is the most frequently occurring blood type (37% of the population).

What's the rarest blood type? AB negative is the rarest of the eight main blood types - just 1% of our donors have it. Despite being rare, demand for AB negative blood is low and we don't struggle to find donors with AB negative blood. However, some blood types are both rare and in demand.

Type O negative, often called the “universal” blood, is always in demand because O negative red blood cells can be transfused to anyone regardless of their blood type.

38% of the population has O positive blood, making it the most common blood type. O positive red blood cells are not universally compatible to all types, but they are compatible to any red blood cells that are positive (A+, B+, O+, AB+).

What is the difference between the Red Cross and the blood connection? ›

While Blood Connection is only a blood bank, blood collection is only a portion of Red Cross' overall mission, which includes disaster relief. A broader mission and a national network result in larger overhead costs, one reason why Red Cross may charge higher fees than Blood Connection.

Our Commitment to Our Donors

Through this program, we offer donors in need of transfusions credits based on the number of times they donated within the year. We offer $25 for every whole blood donation and $50 for donations other than whole blood.

Through the prepaid card issuer's website or mobile app:

If available, locate the "transfer" or "move money" option. You'll need your bank account details (account number and routing number) and the amount you want to transfer. Review and confirm the transfer.

Visit a participating retailer's web store, add desired products to cart, and click checkout. On the payment page, simply enter your card details in the debit/credit card section (not the gift card section) Enter the card number, CVV, Expiry Date/Valid Thru, and name as the cardholder to complete the online sale.

Go to a Gift Card Exchange kiosk to trade your card for cash. A Gift Card Exchange kiosk is usually bright yellow and located in a grocery store. Insert the card information into the kiosk and then choose to accept or reject the offer the kiosk gives you.
